VORSICHT ENFGLISCHER SPOILER
Rei Kurosawa - 23 years old. Female, freelance photography. After the recent death of her boyfriend, she was asked to take a job photographying pictures of a 'haunted house'. However, when taking a few location shots, the image of her dead boyfriend appeared in one of the photos. (there are conflicting reports as to whether the boyfriend died at the mansion or died somewhere else mysteriously at this time) As Rei investigates the mansion, a strange snake tattoo begins to appear along her arm. What's worse, is some of the spirits she's beginning to encounter also have the same tattoo...
Kei Amakura - A writer and good friend of Rei's dead boyfriend. He teams up with Rei. Possible love interest? (I know I read somewhere one place was reporting that Kei & the boyfriend were related...but everywhere else is referring to them as close friends.) It has also been mentioned that Kei has almost no spiritual power or sixth sense, so he must use logic and knowhow to get through the mansion
Miku Hinasaki - Yes, our beloved Miku, back, alive, over her brother's disappearance...and with her spiritual powers...curious. She works as a assisstant photographer (presumably to Rei Kurosawa) and also teams up with the young woman. More miku discussion/questions further down.
Gameplay
From all the reports I've read, and the Famitsu scans, all three characters seem to be playable...to what degree they are playable, is in question. But you can play as all three characters.
Also, a little bit more information about the Nightmare & 'Reality' worlds. Apparently, the 'nightmare' world appears when Rei goes to sleep. While not much information about the 'reality' portion of the game has come to light yet, it has been suggested that the Reality portion isn't safe for our heroine either.
Family Relations?
As far as Kei Amakura's relationship to Mio & Mayu. I don't know. There's nothing I can find so far that states for a fact he's related to our beloved twins from the second game...but I'm sure his name isn't Amakura for coincidence. Also remember there is someone *ELSE* who the Amakura's are related to: Dr Kunihiko Aso, the creator of the Camera Obscura.
As far as Miku & Rei knowing they are related? I don't know either. We probably won't find out how the two are connected (if they are connected at all) until the game hits store shelves.)
When does the game take place?
It takes place AFTER Fatal Frame 1/ Project Zero 1/ Zero - I do not however know how long it takes place afterwards. I'm sure they'll tell us.
Fans have been also questioning Miku's age, may I remind American & European fans, that 'our' Miku was significantly aged when Fatal Frame was brought over to the US. So it's extremely possible that the Miku of FF3 follows the timeline for the Japanese Miku (who was around 15 or 16 when she entered the mansion) as opposed to the American Miku (who was more like 18-20).
Also, one of the more troubling questions about Miku is this...not that any of us are complaining Miku's back...but HOW did she get her powers back? (Not to mention, why is our familar looking female yueri standing right behind her?! )
I mean..Kikuchi-san even said so himself:
"As I mentioned, Miku's story is concluded in the first game. Even though the game title is Fatal Frame "II", it is completely new except the basic concept of the camera. We chose a different story and different main characters to provide more fear than we provided in the first one. "
I guess what he meant was...I didn't want her in Fatal Frame 2, because I wanted to throw all the fans a curve ball for when I have her come back in Fatal Frame 3! (Either way, I'm not complaining..I just hope for a good explaination. )
Is the Camera from FF3, the Camera Obscura from FF2
Right now, it's anyone's guess.
Many fans have pointed out the obvious similarities to the Camera Obscura used in FF2 and the camera we've seen in FF3 preview shots. Also, the fact that several online news sources are calling the camera the Camera Obscura has also led to speculation. Right now, nothing can be determined, and there's no way to tell either way. If the camera *IS* the camera from FF2, then I would like to know personally how it got out of the Hellishy Abyss after Mio dropped it.
Of course, considering we have an 'Amakura' family member, and as I've pointed out, the Amakura's are descendents of Dr. Aso, who created the camera to begin with, there are a numerous amount of possibilities ranging from this could be a totally new camera, or the camera from FF2. There just isn't enough information to know right now.
As I right this, two more news websites have posted reports about Fatal Frame 3.
Magic Box (who is also stating a summer release in Japan for the game) has some scans of the characters posted. Nothing knew granted, but they are reporting FF3, so I thought I would mention it.
TotalVideoGames.com has announced that Tecmo has confirmed FF3. (Although there is no news on Tecmo USA or Tecmo Japan yet about the game) _ They also mixed up Kei & Rei in the article, but everyone makes mistakes! ^_^;; TVG also says the game promises to tie up lose ends from the other two games.
Great! Does that mean we finally find out who the Osaka Hanging twins are?? No?... *sigh* Oh well.

das spiel spielt teils in einer traum und teils in einer realen welt.
zudem hat Kei keinen sechsten sinn und muss sich mit köpfchen durch das spukhaus schlagen.

Toll, ein Project Zero 3! Und das mit meinem Liebling Miku.
Hoffentlich wirds ein würdiger Nachfolger, ich befürchte langsam das PZ zu einem Fließbandprodukt geworden ist wie etliche andere Spiele, seit es so erfolgreich geworden ist...Auf das ich vom Gegenteil überzeugt werde.
